Hi all, hope you’re keeping cozy this week. With consideration to the time of year, this week’s dispatch brings you art, snacks and shopping all under one roof.
401 Richmond is such a Toronto treasure, and if you’ve never been please take the opportunity to take it all in at your earliest convenience. While I’m mentioning a few specific galleries here, there’s also a super selection of art within the building’s hallways; on my recent visit I was especially drawn to April Hickox’s hypnotic installation Observance, which captures different floral arrangements in the process of being made. And Tangled Art + Disability's Vitrine Exhibition, Cinnamon, presents works by Wen Tong; it's "a series of paintings which, like the spice, is mundane yet leaves an experience that invigorates the senses and has a magical quality", as per the show's text.
You could really spend a whole day here if you wanted to, but this itinerary offers some options if you only have a few hours to spare.
